American Wirehair

The American wirehaired cat (1966) has the same characteristics as the American shorthair except that the fur is bent or hooked. The effect of this is to give the animal a very dense, somewhat harsh springy type of coat. Occasionally the whiskers are also bent. As with the American shorthair almost any colour is acceptable. Quite rare apparently.
